Sales

We thought we would let Will have a good sleep in the room so we decided we would have a two-part day. In the morning, we would go out and find a toy shop in Rumilly, then in the afternoon we would go to Montreux in Switzerland.

At breakfast, Chrystelle suggested we go to Yvoire – a lovely medieval village still perfectly intact and operational, on the other less-developed side of the lake, and closer than Montreux. She had always been good for advice so we decided that we would go to Yvoire instead.

We looked up a shop for children on googlemaps and found our way there, but when we got there the shop didn’t seem to exist, or maybe it had been replaced. Fortunately, we drove a little bit further down the road and found another shop called King Jouet which sold a small range of Leappad toys that we were after. We bought a French Winnie the Pooh book - more so for Lou than for Will I expect!

It was later than we expected by the time we got home, and the weather was fantastic, so we decided we would build a good memory at La Saliere and stay outside in the hot sun. Will went down easily so we headed out to the pool and the lounge chairs. We stripped off a bit to allow our white skin to get a bit of sun and baked for a good few minutes before jumping in the pool. A family of Belgians, who were co-habiting the B&B with us, joined us outside and we had a good talk and a splash. Will woke up and came down for another swim.

Lou had earlier seen a neat, interactive date calendar in French on Chrystelle’s wall and had asked her where to find it, so we followed her instructions and found Le Centre Commercial Courier in Annecy – a large crescent shaped mall with lots of shops and eateries. We found the shop, Nature & Découvertes (very similar to our Nature’s Discoveries back home), and bought the calendar. It was late so we took a good stroll through the old town one last time and drove back home.

After dinner and putting Will to bed, we stayed up with all of our new friends we had met while we had stayed at La Saliere. We had met families from England, Belgium, France, USA and Australia and have good memories of our time with them. Lou and I had a bottle of the local bière blanche (white beer) and we shared around and finished our Swiss chocolate. We went to bed around midnight feeling full and happy.
